Choose a useful first AI task
Select a low-risk task with a result you can inspect.
Understand
Start with work that is repetitive, reversible and easy to check. Drafting a short message or organizing fictional notes is a better first experiment than letting a tool send messages or make consequential decisions. Write down the input, the desired output and the check that tells you the output is useful. If you cannot judge the result, choose a simpler task or involve someone qualified.
Match the tool to the job. A text assistant can draft and explain. A calculator or spreadsheet is usually better for dependable arithmetic. A search tool can help locate current sources, but you still need to open and evaluate them. Image and audio tools have different capabilities and permissions. Do not assume every product or subscription includes every feature.
Before using an external AI service, verify its official address, access requirements, cost and data settings. Use a tool you are already authorized to use, with non-sensitive practice material. Do not connect your email, upload files or add a payment method merely to complete this course. You can work through the written examples without an AI account; AstraCruz’s live demos are optional and have a free-use limit.
Try it in your life or work
Personal practice
Choose one task from your week. State what you will provide, what AI may produce and what you will check. Reject any task requiring sensitive information or a decision you cannot evaluate.
Business practice
Choose a repeatable drafting task. Name who reviews it and who is allowed to send or use it. Estimate the manual effort before trying AI, without assuming the AI version will be faster.
Keep: A one-task brief with input, output, reviewer and forbidden actions.
Use fictional or non-sensitive information. Written practice does not require an AI account. The live demos are optional; other tools have their own terms and costs.
